Pakistan’s mobile phone imports rose sharply in the first five months of FY2025–26, reaching Rs 226 billion ($801 million), showing over 40% growth compared to last year.
Higher consumer demand and steady market activity pushed imports up, with a notable month-on-month increase in November.
Despite this rise, local manufacturing remains strong, with millions of handsets assembled domestically, including smartphones and 2G devices.
The data reflects changing consumer trends and continued reliance on imported technology alongside growing local production capacity.
