Passenger train services between China and North Korea are set to resume on Thursday after a six-year p@ndemic pause, China Railway announced.
Beijing–Pyongyang trains will run four times weekly, while Dandong–Pyongyang services will operate daily. The link is seen as strengthening ties and facilitating exchanges between the countries.
Tickets are currently available only for travelers with valid visas, including Chinese and North Korean citizens working, studying, or visiting family. The first departing train is fully booked, carrying entrepreneurs, officials, and reporters. North Korea has been gradually reopening to tourists since 2024, aiming to revive its tourism sector.
