A case has been registered against BJP ally and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over an incident involving the pulling of a Muslim woman doctor’s veil.

According to Indian media reports, Samia Rana, a leader of the Samajwadi Party in Lucknow, has filed a case against Nitish Kumar.

Meanwhile, global human rights organization Amnesty International India stated that forcibly removing a woman’s hijab or veil by a public official is a serious attack on her dignity, identity, and personal freedom.

Amnesty International said such actions not only violate women’s fundamental rights but also promote an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in society.

It is worth noting that the incident occurred two days ago, after which Indian political leaders, journalists, and human rights organizations strongly condemned the act as shameful.

Human rights activist Deepika Pushkar Nath termed the incident a serious case of sexual harassment, while former Chief Minister of Indian-occupied Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti also strongly condemned the incident, calling it an insult to women
