Karachi to Lahore in 90 minutes? Chinese engineers have stunned the world after their maglev train reached an incredible 700 km/h in just two seconds, setting a new global record.

The one-ton superconducting train, tested on a 400-meter track at China’s National University of Defense Technology, accelerated almost instantly and was safely brought to a halt.

Earlier trials had hit 648 km/h, but this milestone cements China’s leadership in ultra-high-speed rail. Using powerful magnets to float above the track and eliminate friction, the technology promises to drastically cut travel times and redefine the future of long-distance transportation.

Disclaimer: Karachi to Lahore in 90 minutes is a hypothetical calculation based on China’s experimental maglev test, not an existing or planned train service in Pakistan
